It didn't happen overnight.
After four children, decades of climbing the corporate ladder in the headhunting industry, and years of relying on steroids to manage an autoimmune disorder, I slowly stopped recognising the woman looking back at me.
I was tired all the time.
My weight crept up and I was at my heaviest.
My clothes didn't fit the way they used to, and my skin was covered in melasma.
I just didn't feel like me anymore.
And perhaps the hardest part? I blamed myself because I thought I had let myself go. I accepted that this is what getting older looks like.
What if we've got ageing all wrong?
What if I could actually look and feel better than I did before?
Stronger. Leaner. More energetic. Healthier-looking skin. More confident in my clothes and more comfortable in my own body.
I began learning about nutrition, muscle, sleep, stress and metabolic health, and how our needs can change as we get older.
I stopped seeing ageing as something that was simply happening to me.
I started asking how much of the way I age could be influenced by nutrition, lifestyle and understanding how metabolic health works.
Because I don't just want more years, I want more life in those years.
